YuGiOh Duel Monsters is an entirely separate continuity from both the Comic and the first Anime. God even knows where YuGiOh The Movie fits into this - it might be its own sub-timeline, honestly. YuGiOh, aka Season 0, is its own weird-ass thing. YuGiOh (comic), YuGiOh R, TRANSCEND GAME, and DSoD are all the original "Takahashi Canon". More to the point, there are a bunch of different timelines throughout the various works.
